Bicycle Rodeo
Taught at Lakeside Park each year. The Kiwanis, Police department, and fire department team up with fun and festivities for an exciting Saturday. Children learn and have fun while they receive free inspections on their bikes and complete obstacle courses. Medals are also given to all children participating in the bike course. The dates are advertised prior to the event.

Citizens Police Academy
Classes begin each quarter. Classes are offered once per week giving citizens a chance to learn about all aspects of their department. Participants get to ride-along with officers, take part in mock investigations, fire weapons, and get an inside look at every division within the department.

The Easter Egg Hunt is located at beautiful Lakeside Park on April 15th! Meet the Easter Bunny and the officers of our mountain bike patrol unit. Will you find one of the GOLDEN PRIZE EGGS?
Engraver Program
Don't let those valuables end-up stolen! You can sign-out one of the departments two engravers and mark your valuables. This can prevent theft and lead to a quick recovery of missing/stolen merchandise. Come by the department to sign-out an engraver at your convenience.
Handgun Safety Course
Taught in the Spring and Fall of each year. Men and women of all ages are taught the basics by certified firearms instructors. Topics include safety, tactics, nomenclature, the law, and accuracy. This is a one day course taught at the FOP firing range.

This fantastic community event will feature an outstanding haunted house and free candy to kids. It is held at the Pell City Park and Recreation Civic Center located on Hwy 34. The haunted house will be at 6 pm on October 26th, 27th, and 30th. The candy hunt will be on the 30th at 6 pm.
Relay for Life
Avondale Ball Park in April! Participate to a MOST-worthy cause and meet members of our explorer unit, ACE program, and bike unit.
VIPS Program
Volunteers In Police Service (VIPS) is a national program that is practiced by Pell City PD. Assignments are available in all divisions. Volunteer hours lead to presidential and local recognition. Call Ned Smith for an application (884-3334)!
Women's Self Defense Course
This is a free course offered twice per year. Certified instructors teach this "hands-on" course for women of all ages. An ounce of prevention is truly worth a pound of cure!
